Making a simple widgetized page template in Dynamik Website builder is easier than you might think.
First we need to make some widget areas. Go to…
- WordPress Dashboard → Genesis → Dynamik CUSTOM
- Click the Widget areas tab
Name your widget area, set it to shortcode and use Genesis Column Classes to control how the widget areas are laid out on the page. You can use column classes such as one-third, one-half etc. to build a grid layout for your page.
After making your widget areas, if you go to Appearance → Widgets you’ll see your new widget areas available to use. But so far you can’t see these widgets display because they are not used in any pages or posts.
We now need to make a template containing these new widget areas. We do this by going to…
WordPress Dashboard → Genesis → Dynamik CUSTOM and clicking the Templates tab.
The video explains how to use Dynamik’s built in PHP Builder feature to quickly make your own simple page template.
The image below shows the code we made, with comments to make it easier to understand. I hope :-)
