Setup EZ-Home widget areas

August 26, 2015 By Philip Gledhill

In a previous video I explained the basics of EZ-Widget areas. In this video we set up the EZ-Widget areas in Dynamik Website Builder and then change some of the CSS styles using point and click settings.

Building a magazine style home page is much easier using these point and click settings than it would be if you had to write all the code by hand.

Some important points to note…

There are point and click settings for styling EZ widget areas, Custom widget areas you’ve made yourself, and Genesis Featured Post widgets. But for instance, if you want to use Genesis Featured Post widgets on two different pages with two different background colours, you would have to write custom code. This is because ALL Genesis Featured Post widgets would have the same coloured headlines and paragraph text etc. So you might need to write one set of custom code for light backgrounds and one set of code for dark backgrounds.

If you stick to one background colour for pages that contain Genesis Featured Post widgets, you won’t face this problem :-)

So, why not watch the video and follow along as I setup EZ-Home widget areas in Dynamik WEbsite builder, a Genesis child theme.
